The Bluff City Cellos, cello majors and minor at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music, University of Memphis, have been invited to participate and perform at the Tennessee Cello Workshop from February 24-26th, 2018. The Bluff City Cellos consist of undergraduate and graduate student cellists, under the direction of Assistant Professor of Cello, Dr. Kimberly Patterson. As one of the most diverse cello studios in the country, the Bluff City Cellos frequently plays concerts for the University of Memphis community.
The Tennessee Cello Workshop is an extensive three-day exploration and celebration of cello playing and music making and is integral to the education of cellists at the University of Memphis. The workshop consists of a series of master classes, lecture presentations, cello ensemble events, cello competitions, and concerts. The TCW brings the country’s foremost cello pedagogues to one festival, enhancing the education of the University of Memphis’s cello performance majors and minors.
