DRS continues to raise funds to assist disabled students by purchasing needed personal resources that provide greater access for educational purposes. Thanks to your generosity last year, we were able to assist students in getting costly diagnostic tools at no cost to them. We helped others purchase software and equipment, and hope to continue supporting students through your kind donations.
Assistive and adaptive technology, such as speech-to-text and text-to-speech, can cost hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. Funds raised will allow the purchase of assistive technology (and sometimes hardware) to assist disabled students by providing the access they need to be successful students. Funds raised will also be used to pay for psychological-educational evaluations to assess learning disabilities and identify potential accommodations. These evaluations and assessments can cost as much as $1,500 and are not often covered by health insurance. By purchasing these through on-campus resources (which can cost as little as 20% of what community resources charge), DRS can assist a larger number of students in identifying and diagnosing disabilities. DRS and our students thank you for your support! We are proud to be part of the valued and diverse University community and are grateful for the opportunity to provide students with more resources.
As we all know, amounts add up! Thank you for giving what you can to support DRS students.
Thank you for this! Donations at this level can provide 1/3 of the cost of an evaluation!
Donations at this level get us closer to providing technological resources for our students.
