Who We Are:
Frosh Camp is a four-day, extended orientation program that takes place at Camp NaCoMe in Middle Tennessee. Frosh Camp eases the transition to college by providing students with an opportunity to get more involved, learn about the University of Memphis, and set goals for college in the tranquility of the great outdoors, all while developing strong relationships with other incoming students and upperclassmen mentors. At Frosh Camp, you meet people who will radically influence your college years – classmates, friends, and supporters who will make and shape your experience at the University of Memphis. It is truly an unforgettable experience that you’ll remember for the rest of your life!
How Your Support Will Help:
While you know that Frosh Camp offers a remarkable extended orientation program, it is also an expensive program to host. Transporting nearly 400 campers to and from Camp NaCoMe, feeding hundreds of hungry college students, and gathering supplies for counselor sessions and activities all add up to create a significant cost to the program. And although the little things like bug spray, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer can be bought in bulk, it all comes at a cost.
All in all, it costs $85 to attend Frosh Camp as an incoming freshman. Although this is an affordable cost, our goal is to maintain the affordability of Frosh Camp so that this one-of-a-kind experience is available to students for decades to come. With the rising operational costs of hosting camp, it is more important now than ever before that we support the program that has given so much to so many Memphis Tigers. Donations will accommodate needs of the students, offset costs to counselors, and help provide an overall better experience for freshmen campers. Summer 2024 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Frosh Camp Program! Celebrate with us by making a $30 donation today. Your donation will go towards our counselor decorations, so our current student leaders will be able to decorate their cabins to the nines! *We encourage all graduated Frosh Counselor Alumni to donate $30 and attend our Alumni Day in April 2024. Your gift of $85 will cover the cost of one camper to attend Frosh Camp! We believe Frosh is a once in a lifetime experience that no incoming freshman should miss out on regardless of financial status. Look out for a commemorative Frosh Camp merch item as a token of appreciation for your donation!
It costs about $100 to feed one camper during their time at Camp NaCoMe. Remember the infamous Mac N Cheese? Your donation will go towards helping alleviate some of that cost, so incoming freshman can make memories at camp to last a lifetime. With this donation, you will receive a personal shout out on our Frosh Camp social media page and a commemorative Frosh Camp merch item as a token of our appreciation.
Frosh Camp truly has seen some legendary counselors and campers throughout its 30 years at the University of Memphis. Our goal for this summer is to fill up both of our Frosh Camp sessions with 250 students at each, but we have to provide a way to get them there! Your gift of $250 will help pay for the buses that transport our campers from Memphis to Camp NaCoMe. As Frosh Camp Legend status, you will receive a personal thank you video from a counselor and a commemorative Frosh Camp merch item as a token of our appreciation
Do you ever find yourself going down memory lane? Now, you can experience it all again. Your $500 gift gives you the opportunity to join in on all the fun by serving as a Boat Cheer & Race judge on Wednesday of Frosh Camp where you will be recognized for your support of the Frosh Camp program. Will the cardboard boats make it across the calm waters of the iconic NaCoMe creek? Come see for yourself! You will also receive a Frosh Camp commemorative merch item as a token of our appreciation.
