The University of Memphis promotes engagement to our students in ways that benefit communities. The University of Memphis Association of Retirees (UMAR) Graduate Memorial Community Advancement Scholarship seeks to recognize that commitment by supporting links between knowledge, research and service that benefit both the UofM and community partners.
A principal goal in the UofM strategic plan is to maximize and leverage the bond between the University and the community to address society’s biggest problems and positively impact our world. The UMAR Graduate Community Advancement Scholarship is a one-of-a-kind program that focuses on recognizing and rewarding students who best advance that goal. Recipients are selected based on a candidate’s educational effect on benefiting a group with whom the applicant has partnered.
