Greetings from the University of Memphis' National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)! NSBE is one of the largest student-run organizations in the United States with more than 30,000 members committed to the advancement of minorities in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. Six regions represent our organization, both internationally and domestically; our University chapter is in Region III. Our Chapter alone has 144 members on campus, many of whom are active around the community. Every semester the number of active members increases as we continue to honor the NSBE Mission:
“To increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.”
This year, we are planning to attend the 48th Annual NSBE National Convention in Anaheim, California. The theme for this year’s convention is “Inspiring Engineers”. The conference offers a unique, catered experience, which includes a career and graduate school fair, GRE/FE prep workshops, and a community service opportunity. In addition to attending conferences, our chapter plans to participate in various professional development programs to introduce our members to employers along with tips towards academic success.
Your help will allow us as a chapter to continue to enrich and support our members! We thank you for all your help!
