We are delighted to report that, because of you all, we met our goal in under a week! We believe this is an important opportunity for our students and we are so grateful to find that belief mirrored by our community.
As I mentioned in the description on our fundraiser page, this was our pilot campaign for scholarship matching projects. We hoped to set an achievable goal this year to demonstrate the feasibility of and support for building these partnerships for our students. Our long term goal is to be able to extend this opportunity to multiple students per year and to partner with multiple craft schools across the country.
As serendipity would have it, I got a phone call from Anderson Ranch yesterday offering the UofM sculpture area one more scholarship for this summer specifically to support an extraordinary POC student in attending a workshop.
In light of this unexpected and welcome windfall from Anderson Ranch, we have extended our fundraising goal to $2,400 to now send not one, but two of our very best and brightest into the wild blue yonder of Colorado's finest craft school. We are working on getting bios and images in order to share the presence and work of our second scholarship recipient, so check back shortly for updates!
