A Night in Africa

Hello Highly Esteemed Donor,

Thanks for being interested in contributing towards A Night in Africa for April 2025 in support of promoting the African heritage! This is our biggest event of the school year celebrating diverse African music, food, dance, cultural performances, fashion, social networking, and much more to represent the variety of African cultures. To enable this big day to be successful, we have a goal of raising $1,500 through this MomentUM fundraising. And with such awesome generous people like you who appreciate the African diversity, every penny goes a long way. Decoration

Donation towards decoration covers items like table and chair cloths, balloons, standing balloon arcs by entrance, flower vases, cowries

This includes a special performance of traditional African beats with drums such as Djembe, Bongo or Conga drum sets

This will be used to pay the official photographer covering the pictures and videos of the event.

This would be used for paying the DJ covering the music for 3+ hours throughout the event including setup and breakdown time

Is my contribution tax-deductible?

The University of Memphis Foundation is a qualified tax-exempt corporation under Section 501 (c)(3), and the University of Memphis is a tax-exempt government entity under section 501 (a) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code; making your contributions tax deductible to the extent provided by law. If you received any tangible benefit in exchange for your contribution, the tax deductible amount is limited to the amount of your contribution over the stated value of the item or benefit you received. If your contribution qualified you for the right to purchase athletic tickets, please note that due to legislation enacted on December 2017 such contributions are no longer eligible for a tax deduction; however, we suggest that you to contact your tax professional for guidance on your specific tax situation.
