901Women Creating Champions in the Classroom, Competition and Life

The 901Women initiative has been established to honor 50 years of competitive and academic excellence within our women’s sports programs since the passage of Title IX in 1972. In addition, this initiative intends to inspire and generate philanthropic support for the enhancement of athletic, academic, and personal experiences for current and future female student-athletes at the University of Memphis.

The Department of Athletics remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering current female student-athletes and coaches who proudly represent this great institution. 901Women will allow for that commitment to expand locally, regionally, and nationally by encouraging alumni, friends, and fans to further support this mission as we help establish the next generation of trailblazers.

What will 901Women Support?

Women's head coaches and administrators will identify the greatest areas of need for Memphis female student-athletes on an annual basis. Potential opportunities for funding include, but are not limited to: scholarship support, facility projects and personal and professional enrichment.

You can make a gift to a facility project by visiting our 901Women: Facility Support page. By making a gift to the future soccer and track stadium and the Larry O. Finch Center volleyball project, you are making a direct impact on the future of these programs. With 11 conference championships for our women’s soccer program, NCAA championship appearances for our women’s soccer and track programs, and a history of developing talent with our volleyball program, we are committed to elevating these sports to the next level with renovations to both facilities.
