Summit Percussion Group- Memphis School Tour

The Summit Percussion Group is dedicated to bringing the excitement of percussion music to the greater Memphis community. The idea behind our project, is that each member brings something from a different musical background (such as jazz, chamber, solo, and orchestral), and we all come together to work towards the goal of making music that will reach to students throughout the city of Memphis.

With your support, we will be able to reach more schools and community organizations throughout Memphis. Your gifts will fund new music, help purchase equipment to expand our repertoire and our ability to bring music to the city, with hope to expand across the Mid-South area. We hope to inspire current music students to stay in music programs and to stimulate their creativity in music creation and performance. We also hope to reach students who aren't currently in music programs to break down barriers between genres and show how they can be involved in the arts. Finally, we hope to bring our love of music to the greater Memphis community and demonstrate the amazing music that is available for the percussion quartet.

Our fall 2018 tour will include Houston High School, Houston Middle School, Central High School, Collierville High School, and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. Future tours will include other Memphis area schools, the Crosstown Concourse, and public music series and events.
